One kind of text: account and transaction alerts about a splice you
personally joined. No marketing, ever, and never to someone who
didn't give us their own number.
Program name
Splice: group payment alerts
Who receives messages
Only people who entered a join code, submitted their own mobile
number, and ticked the consent box at that moment.
How you opt in
Express written consent, given at
pay.splice.cash/j/<code> on the screen shown
below, the only place we ever collect a mobile number. The box is
unchecked by default and the form can't be submitted without it.
There is no other way onto the list: we don't buy, rent or import
numbers, and organizers can't add one on someone else's behalf.
Message types
Account notifications and transactional alerts only: a charge is
coming, a charge succeeded or failed, someone paused the group, or
a splice has closed. No marketing.
Frequency
Varies by activity. Typically
one to four messages per splice you join;
recurring Splice Circles are usually one or two per billing cycle.
Cost
Splice doesn't charge for messages.
Message and data rates may apply from your carrier.
Opting out
Reply STOP to any message to end all texts
immediately. You'll get one confirmation and nothing after that.
You can still use Splice in a browser, you just won't get the
heads-up before a charge. Reply START to opt back
in.
Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.
Privacy
Mobile numbers are used only for these alerts.
No mobile information is sold, and none is shared with third
parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes.
Full detail in the Privacy Policy.
The opt-in
Nobody is texted unless they ask to be.
A join code alone gets you nothing. After entering one at
pay.splice.cash/j/<code>,
this is the screen where a mobile number is collected, and it is
the only place a number can enter our system.
You type your own number. Nobody can enter it for you.
The consent box starts unchecked.
Continue stays disabled until you tick it.
Declining still lets you use Splice in a browser.
one thing first
Who should we text?
Your number is only used to warn you before any charge, so you can
pause or reach the organizer.
